Laboratory Tests

Bloodwork and Urinalysis gives us a window into your pet’s body functions.

Complete Blood Count (CBC):

This panel gives your veterinary team information about your pet’s Red Blood Cell count, White Blood Cell count, and platlet count. This information can tell us if your pet is anemic, if there is an infection present, if there are any clotting issues, and so much more.

Chemistry:

This panel gives your veterinary team information about your pet’s organ function. The enzymes tested tell us about your pet’s liver, the kidneys, blood sugar, cholesterol, electrolytes vital to healthy cellular function, and pancreatic enzymes can be tested. All of this information can be vital to understanding what is making your pet ill. It is a good idea to run annual bloodwork so that we have a baseline for what is normal for your pet. Every machine is set with the standard ‘normal’ but nothing is better than knowing your pets unique ‘normal’!

Urinalysis:

This panel gives your veterinary team information about your pet’s urinary tract health. These values give us a more complete picture of your pet’s kidney health; as well as, information about the bladder and urinary tract. These samples can be examined for bacterial infections, crystals, and other values that allow us to understand your pets overall health.
